If you live in the UK, you don’t suffer from a lack of online poker rooms to play at, unlike the Americans who have a government who keeps shutting down online poker rooms. We also have better luck with online casinos than our American cousins. Just check out http://www.on-linecasino.org.uk/microgaming for some great places to play. So, the interest that most poker players have when it comes to Full Tilt Poker is “when will we get our funds back?” See, Full Tilt’s biggest problem is that they owe about $600 million in funds, half of that to American players, and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission isn’t likely to reinstate their license until they show signs that they can at least pay back money owed to UK and EU players. Yes, US players would be nice to, but since there are legal complications there, Alderney may not insist on it. But we’ve been waiting for ages for the supposed reopening of Full Tilt after the acquisition (maybe) by Groupe Bernard Tapie. So what’s happening?
Well, we don’t know. News filters out from the company slowly and often with a questionable optimistic slant. So, even if Full Tilt tells us what they’re doing, we don’t trust them. But we do know that they’re advertising for support people in Dublin These are short term positions that could become full time positions. So, this means Full Tilt could be looking for brave souls to tackle a barrage of requests from players looking to get their money back, something that’s bound to happen before anyone starts actually playing on Full Tilt even if they do reopen.
This could be good news. It might signal progress. And if you’re looking for a two or three month position dealing with angry poker players, Full Tilt has a job for you.
